How long until my website is live?
We aim to have you live within 7 days of giving us the green light. The real pace depends on how quickly you send back your onboarding details — the sooner we have them, the sooner you're online.
How much work is it for me?
Very little. You fill in a short onboarding form so we know what to build — that's the main thing we need from you. If you'd like us to update your Google Business Profile with the new website link we're happy to, or you can do it yourself. Whichever suits.
Do I own the website?
Yes, completely. The website and domain are yours. Your monthly payment covers us running everything on your behalf — hosting, maintenance, updates and support. If you ever leave, we hand it all over.
What happens if I want to cancel?
No hard feelings. Give us 30 days' notice and within that window we'll transfer your domain to you and send you the full website files. Hosting stops at the end of the 30 days. No hidden fees, no awkward conversations.
Is there a minimum contract?
No. It's rolling monthly, cancel any time with 30 days' notice. We'd rather earn your business every month than lock you into a contract.
What kind of changes can I request?
Most things — updated photos, opening hours, pricing, contact details, new pages, seasonal offers. Drop us a message and we'll handle it. The only thing we'd need to scope separately is a full redesign from scratch.
Do I need to sort out hosting or a domain myself?
No. We take care of everything — domain registration, hosting, SSL security, software updates and ongoing maintenance. You don't need to touch any of it.
Why BarKu over a bigger agency or just building it on Wix?
Running a garage is busy enough — you shouldn't have to think about your website. We're two Bristol locals who know the area, we charge significantly less than national agencies, and we don't hand you a site and disappear. We handle everything ongoing and build in the local SEO foundations that actually bring in bookings. Wix gives you a tool. We give you a service.
Do you only work with Bristol garages?
We're Bristol born and raised so we know the local area inside out — but since everything we do is online, we work with garages anywhere in the UK or beyond. Location is no barrier.
What happens if my website goes down?
Rare interruptions can occasionally happen at the hosting level. These are outside anyone's direct control, but we monitor proactively and will always act as quickly as possible to restore things with minimal disruption to your business. We take availability seriously — even when we can't guarantee it absolutely.
